I recognized that writing on the wall. Those are the names of soldiers that died in the great wars. It was taken on campus down at U of T. No? Graffiti on such a wall would be highly disrespectful. So perhaps by environment you mean urban environment and not environment as it applies to green thinking and ozone and pollution etc.?
The clock image connotes an hourglass based on all the sand around it. Those hourglasses certainly get across the notion of time "running out" so to speak, a lot more effectively that a traditional 24 hour clock does.
I was meaning to change it since last week. But, you inspired me with your awesome new wordpress blog.
The first image:
Excellent, you know the wall and the context. For this image, I was trying to portray the idea that, we (society) are ruining the world that soldiers throughout the great wars have fought and died for. Have these men and women died for nothing? I too feel the word "disrespectful" is so fitting for this image because what society is doing is disrespectful to all men and women who lost their lives protecting and saving our land for the benefit of us and future generations.
The second image:
Yes. Instead of the typical hourglass clock, I decided to use the beach sand as a backdrop and paste a clock on top, to put a new spin on the meaning of "hourglass" and the meaning of time.
